You know him as the keyboardist for the renowned String Cheese Incident, but Kyle Hollingsworth came into our studio as, well, Kyle Hollingsworth, hometown boy.
He feels safe saying that since he’s lived here for 19 years. That said, Kyle figures he hasn’t played a gig in town for about three years, and he was downright giddy about the Kyle Hollingsworth Band’s show at the Boulder Theater on Saturday night. Based on what we heard in the Garage, it’ll be a performance worth seeing.
He’s known for his keyboards, but he impressed as a singer-songwriter. He had a little help from a friend, Dan Schwindt, who plays guitar for the Kyle Hollingsworth Band and, of course, The Motet. We were dazzled by the interplay between Kyle’s keyboards and Dan’s acoustic guitar. In this video Hollingsworth performs ‘Boo Boo’s Pik-A-Nik.”
What he brought us: Uh, OK, so a good time doesn’t count. But word on the street is we’re getting a signed poster of Kyle’s signature beer, Hoopla. So look for that when you come back to the Garage for future shows.
