Members of some of the area’s favorite bands, in a gesture of support for one of their own, have joined the lineup of an all-star concert this weekend.

The show is a benefit for Mindy Wales, mother of Cody Wales, the drummer for popular Nederland band The Magic Beans. Cody Wales has described in social media and in press accounts that his mother was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer and is struggling to get by financially.

His musician friends are pitching in the best way they know how — by taking to the stage.

The show, called “Thanks for Giving,” features a lineup that includes members of The Magic Beans, JJ Grey & Mofro, The Drunken Hearts, Genetics, Jaden Carlson Band, Fox Street DeadPhish Orchestra, True Blue Band and others.

The show is planned to start at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28, at Stage Stop, 60 Main St., Rollinsville. Suggested donation is $15; donations may also be made through gofundme.com. Check The Magic Beans Facebook page for more information.
