Boulder electronic artist TYR to open for Run DMT
Boulder electronic artist and producer Grant Redmond isn’t a Norse god, but it seems as if he’s been touring and performing like one.
And now Redmond’s alias TYR (hence the Norse mythology reference) will be opening for Austin’s Run DMT at the Fox Theatre on Wednesday, Dec. 3.
“I’ve been playing all over the country,” said Redmond, who is greatly anticipating the Fox show show — and recommends bringing some ear protection.
“It’s probably going to be pretty heavy bass music,” said Redmond. “Run DMT likes to play Dubstep like that. I like to play kind of funky stuff early and then get heavier later in the set.”
Redmond said he hasn’t performed with Run DMT before, but calls him an inspiration.
“He’s definitely been an influence on my developing my career,” said Redmond. “I saw him at Snowball. I’m excited to meet him and perform this show.”
Redmond said he will perform his own remixes of Jamie N Commons’ “Lead Me Home,” Moby’s “Natural Blues,” Rudimental’s “Not Giving In” and some of his original pieces.
Run DMT has only had three short years on the electronic music radar, and has recently had his remix of Diplo’s “Revolution” featured in the “Titanfall” game trailer.
