Charmed by Churchill at SXSW
Denver folk rock band Churchill charmed the hell out of us last night.
The band played a 10 p.m. set at Soho Lounge last night, right in the heart of Sixth Street. The crowd stomped, clapped and sang along to familiar tunes and at least one new song. We didn’t catch the name, if they even said it, but we could not get the tune out of our heads. We’re predicting a hit.
Churchill is already on the rise. This SXSW appearance comes at the end of a long nation-wide tour. Between them and The Lumineers, it’s looking like folk rock is Denver’s most popular musical export these days.
As long as the music is this sweet, we don’t mind that at all.
