Red Fox Run perform ‘Roller Coaster’

Red Fox Run perform “Roller Coaster” at Second Story Garage music video studio in Boulder, Colorado.

Red Fox Run’s press contact, Dawn Duncan, told us the band takes the business side of music very seriously. When the quartet arrived at the Garage, they stepped out of their van all dressed simply, but effectively, in coordinated black outfits.

“That was all them,” said Duncan, grinning.

The Denver quartet’s professionalism carried through the session, which musically was marked by a passion that seemed impatient for release. “We don’t make you wait for the good parts” is the band’s tagline — this is a hard one to live up to, but there’s no question they really mean it, and they pretty much did it.

Red Fox Run is going full speed. They played the Underground Music Showcase on Thursday, July 23, and on Saturday, Aug. 1, they kick off a tour with a set at Denver’s Bluebird Theater, supporting My Body Sings Electric. Then they’re off to New Mexico, California and other Western statest. The tour follows the release of their new self-titled album.

When members Daniel Rondeau on rhythm guitar and vocals, Joshua Hester on lead guitar, Seth Beamer on bass and Caleb Thoemke on drums came to the Garage, we heard “Roller Coaster,” “I Am a Fox” and “Beautiful,” all from the new album. Then they sat down to talk about their music with Quentin, and Hester saved Quentin from an experimental line of questioning that was about to totally bomb.

What they brought us: A mannequin head wearing a yellow “Rock N Roll Safety” helmet.
